Such an interesting follow up to their debut with Nico. This dispenses with most of the craziness in lieu of up close and personal confessionals. Quiet, devotional, stripped down. Almost like it was recorded in a closet. Gospel influence. I find this very peaceful. Sounds best with headphones. You have to be in the right mood.
After this, the Velvets decided to embrace chaos and invent noise music with White Light/White Heat. I think this album worked out better overall.
