A New Host

July 11th, 2012

michigan_beach I'm currently in the process of moving hosting from a shared web host to my own virtual private server. For the moment, I'm operating both (one here, at quixfox.net, and the old one at quixfox.com) but the goal is to get both domains pointing to this server sooner than later. In the meantime, I've decided to freeze the current quixfox.com instance and do my updating here. Nobody is reading this anyway, so I doubt anyone will mind.

I feel like a lot has happened since my last update. I had hurt my left knee and quadriceps right in the thick of training for the triathlon. It was a difficult 6 weeks of recovery while I tried to figure out how to cope with not being able to do much of anything (no cycling, no running, not even an eliptical machine), but somehow I came through. I was finally able to hop on my bike for a leisurely 12 mile ride and do an easy 3 mile run one week before the triathlon itself.

Considering all of that, I was pleased with my time of 1:23 to complete the sprint distance at the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon. My knee wasn't happy for a few days after, but thankfully everything has really started to feel much, much better since. That's just in time to play catch-up with the marathon schedule which is starting to ramp up considerably now. Not a good time for a string of triple digit temperatures...
